Type Locality and Naming

The type section is at Dayangshan, the Yangshan Coal Mine, Gushi County, Henan. It was named by the No. 11 Geological Party of Henan Province in 1971.


Lithology and Thickness

Conglomerate. Characterized by very thick quartzose conglomerate intercalated with sandstone lenses. Around Liulin of Gushi, it is 176 m thick.

Fossils

In the limestone conglomerate are contained coral Heliolites cf. anhuiensis, conodont Pancerodus gracilis, etc. Around Liulin of Gushi, the siltstone interbeds contain spore-pollen Crassispora? sp., etc.
